Prep Roundup: Six-run 2nd propels Long Beach to win

Long Beach used a six-run second inning to blast Pascagoula 13-3 Monday night in Coast softball action.

Savannah Bryant struck out five in the win, allowing just two earned runs on four hits and two walks.

Faith Peterson had a team-high three hits. Krystal Goodman also hit a solo home run for LBHS (7-6).

St. Patrick 5, George County 2: St. Patrick edged out the Lady Rebels on Monday to improve to 13-0. Anna D'Aquilla (8-0) struck out 10. Marissa Hanley went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Anna Grace Castanedo was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Pass Christian 15, Bay 5: Amber Funderburk struck out six in relief to earn the win for PCHS (6-7) on Monday. Avion Swanier, Brooke Jackson and Briana Smith each had two hits. Brooke Roach hit a homer and had a single. Randi Jenkins hit a triple and a single.


SSC, OLA post 2-2 mark: The St. Stanislaus/Our Lady Academy tennis team had a busy week. The team (9-2) beat Poplarville 7-0 before splitting decisions at the Newton County tournament, beating Pontotoc 4-3 and falling to Oxford 6-1. The team also fell to Gulfport 4-3.
