Prep roundup: Long Beach's Goodman tosses no-hitter
Long Beach's Krystal Goodman was dialed in Thursday for the Lady Bearcats' Region 8-5A opener, no-hitting Gautier in the 10-0 win.
The Chipola (Fla.) signee struck out 10 against one walk in the victory. She also helped her cause at the plate, totaling two RBIs. Ashlyn Holloway also struck a two-run double.
Harrison Central 1, Hancock 0: Madison Burge struck out 12 and allowed just one hit for HCHS (9-3, 2-0) on Thursday. Kayla Cade's solo homer in the fifth was the lone score.

Baseball
Hattiesburg 6, Stone 5: Hunter Clark had a single and a double, Preston Stringer hit a double and Miles Allison hit a double for the Tomcats (7-7, 2-3).
St. Stanislaus 9, Vancleave 4: Magruder O'Bannon had two hits and three RBI for the Rockachaws (7-7, 3-3 Region 8-4A) on Wednesday. Jack Putnam hit a two-run homer. Ryan Pitalo had two hits. Luke Bradley got the win, striking out eight. He also had two hits.
Gulfport 7, Biloxi 2: Castor Lee earned the win for the Admirals on Wednesday. Alex Nelms, Gage Clark and C.J. Keckler all had two hits for the Admirals. Nick Tiblier hit a two-run homer for Biloxi, Trey Shaffer had three hits.
George County 2, Ocean Springs 1: Mississippi State signee Walker Robbins pitched a complete game Tuesday to lift the Rebels (8-4, 3-2) past the Greyhounds. Ocean Springs went ahead momentarily 1-0 in the top of the sixth. The Rebels responded in the bottom of the frame with West Whittington ended up tallying the game-winning single. Robbins struck out four against three hits, two walks and one unearned run.
