West Harrison's baseball team improved to 10-2 on the year with a 6-2 victory over Harrison Central on Saturday.
Cade Simon struck out three in a complete game effort. Colby Cagle and Kasey Donaldson each recorded a hit and RBI. Simon and Brandon Parker also drove in runs.
West Harrison later beat Bay 11-1 at MGM Park. The Hurricanes plated nine runs in the sixth to pull away from the Tigers.
Stone 4, Lumberton 2: Owen Finnan (1-0) earned the win, striking out five in four innings. Tristan Parker picked up his first save. Hunter Clark tallied a double and two RBIs to lead the Tomcats (7-6) offensively. Hayden Harrell recorded a double and RBI. Mason Hunt collected a single and RBI.
Long Beach, St. Martin split DH: The Bearcats and Yellow Jackets split a doubleheader Saturday. LBHS won the first game 9-1 and fell in Game 2, 5-0. Darren Cook earned the win, striking out three in 2 2/3 innings of work. Tyler Allen struck out five in 4 1/3 innings of relief. Clayton Maxwell had two hits and two RBIs in the game for LBHS (7-6). Brennen Study went 2-for-4 with an RBI and R.J. Fletcher went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for St. Martin (5-12). Dylan Mitchell earned the win, allowing two hits and striking out three.
West Harrison 4, Biloxi 3 (8 innings): Kasey Donaldson led West Harrison on Friday night with two hits. Taylor Woodcock had an RBI. Tate Parker picked up the win in relief, striking out three in 3 1/3 innings. Starting pitcher Tyler Jones struck out three in 4.1 innings. Cade Simon earned the save, striking out the final batter of the game.
Newton County 11, D'Iberville 10: D'Iberville fell to Newton County at Enterprise. D'Iberville was led at the plate by Andrew Bird with five RBIs and two hits, including a three-run homer. Trey Forsythe had a double for the Warriors (8-4, 4-0).
