Prep roundup: D'Iberville bests Biloxi, avenging MGM Park loss

Peyton Warren (2-1) earned the win Wednesday as D'Iberville topped Biloxi 7-4. Nathan Yennie led D'Iberville (8-3, 4-0) with three hits and scored twice. Luther Woullard, Andrew Bird and Hunter White each recorded RBIs in the win. Chase Lott and Lane Colson led BHS (6-6, 2-2) with two hits. Colson also hit a double and an RBI. Tucker Thomas hit a two-run single as well.

West Harrison 13, Gautier 2: Kasey Donaldson earned the win Wednesday, striking out 12 against two hits in six innings. He also registered three hits and four RBIs. Tate Parker had three hits and three RBIs. Dylan Cagle registered two RBIs for WHHS (8-2, 2-0).

St. Patrick 17, Tylertown 1: Josh Wood, Jamie Luzenberg and Nicholas Filipich each led St. Patrick (7-1, 2-1) with two hits. Luzenberg had a team-high four RBIs, while Blaise Butirich, Trace Palazzo and Brennan Gioe all had two RBIs. Blaise Butirich (2-0) allowed two hits and struck out seven in three innings to earn the win.

Softball

Harrison Central 4, Long Beach 0: Madison Burge struck out 11, giving up 5 hits in the complete game shutout Wednesday. Burge also had an RBI single. Amari Ramsey had an RBI single and sacrifice fly. Simone McKinney had three hits, stole three bases, scored twice and reached base four times. Jhericka Strickland added a triple for HCHS (7-3).

Ocean Springs 7, George County 4: Megan Morse went 2-for-4 with a triple and RBI for George County on Wednesday. Hannah Rasberry went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ocean Springs' Alexa Tash led the Lady Greyhounds with three hits. Jacey Fontempt and Samaya James each had two hits.

Biloxi 8, West Harrison 7: Olivia Holley's late double scored Carlie Vice, who reached base with her own double. Holley later came around to score the winning run on a throwing error to push Biloxi (6-3-1) past West Harrison on Wednesday. Vice also hit a grand slam in the game. Christine Marsland recorded three hits. Holley and Taylor White each had two hits. Holley (6-2) also earned the win in the pitcher's circle.
