Bay's Davis, Ladner of Hancock are Sun Herald Players of the Week
A pair of Hancock County athletes have been chosen as this week's Sun Herald Players of the Week.
Bay High senior baseball player Dustin Davis is the Boys Player of the Week while Hancock High sophomore softball star Kaylan Ladner is the Girls Player of the Week.
Dustin Davis, a right-handed pitcher, threw a no-hitter in a 3-1 win at Vancleave on March 15. He struck out eight and walked none in eight innings in a dominant performance.
Davis is 3-1 with a 2.10 ERA in five appearances, including three starts for the Tigers (6-3).
Ladner struck out 14 batters and picked up the win in a 4-3 victory over Ocean Springs on March 15. She also had a nice night at the plate, adding a solo home run for the Lady Hawks (6-1).
