Prep Roundup: Harrison Central hammers Picayune

Dillon Morgan had five hits as Harrison Central routed Picayune 12-0 on Saturday at Picayune. Logan Virgilio had three hits. Ian Colon had three RBIs for the Red Rebels (4-1). Tramone McNeill had two hits. Clay Counts was the winning pitcher.

Biloxi 14, East Central 10: Elijah Nelson had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice for the Indians. Austin Creel, Dylan Menhennett and Trey Shaffer each had two hits and an RBI. Justin Hulett scored twice. Austin Williams earned the victory, Austin Wilson got the save.

West Harrison, PRC split: The Blue Devils won game one 12-0. Tyler VanNorman had two hits for the Hurricanes. West Harrison took the second game 5-4 as Kasey Donaldson struck out four, while adding two hits and an RBI. Cade Simon, Taylor Woodcock and Jay Farlow each had an RBI.

Hancock split: The Hawks (4-2) beat Taylorsville 11-9 as Brindon Hoda, Landon Jordan, B.J. Kennedy, Michael Marie and Bryce Warren all had two hits. Warren got the win. Jordan had two hits in the Hawks' 6-5 loss to West Jones in nine innings.

Bay High 11, Greene County 10: Cameron Breland had two hits, a homer and five RBI for the Tigers (4-2). Gage Kiser had two hits. Dustin Davis got the win.

D'Iberville 8, Long Beach 5: The Warriors (2-2) prevailed as Luther Woullard hit a two-run homer and had four RBIs. Nathan Cvitanovich, Travis Bender and Nathan Yennie all had RBI for D'Iberville. Cameron Hill got the win.

Harrison Central 11, St. Stanislaus 9: Christian Litz, Mason Saucier, Brendan Hardy and Logan Virgilio all had two hits for the Red Rebels (3-1) on Friday. Hardy (1-0) got the win, Cody Palmer earned the save.

Bay High 15, Resurrection 0: Dustin Davis (1-1) threw a one-hitter for the Tigers (3-2) Friday. Cameron Breland had four hits, a homer and five RBIs. Gage Kiser hit a grand slam, finishing with two hits and four RBIs.

Hancock 11, Long Beach 4: Chase Cuevas had four hits for the Hawks on Friday. Brindon Hoda added two hits. Lane Ladner got the win.

Gulfport swept: Seminary beat Gulfport 6-4 on Friday despite Travis McNett's two RBIs. South Jones also beat the Admirals 8-6. McNett had two hits, including a homer. Castor Lee had three hits, Blake Johnson with two hits.

St. Patrick 8, West Harrison 3: Peter Holland struck out seven to lead the Fighting Irish on Friday.

Softball

St. Patrick sweeps: Liz Zorich had two hits and four RBIs as the Lady Irish (6-0) beat D'Iberville 11-5. Emma Rae Castanedo had three hits, Morgan McCrea added two hits. Morgan Redmond (3-0) got the win. St. Patrick beat Ocean Springs 7-0 as Anna D'aquilla (3-0) got the win. Marissa Hanley had three hits and three RBIs for the Lady Irish.

Poplarville 7, PRC 1: Manya Gilmore and Rakeya Travis each drove in two runs for the Lady Hornets (5-0). Kaley Lambert led Poplarville with three hits. Jordan Billiot (2-0) got the win, allowed one hit and one run.

St. Patrick 10, Harrison Central 3: Emma Rae Castanedo hit a three-run homer as St. Patrick beat Harrison Central. Anna D'aquilla earned the victory. Raylen Blackwell hit a two-run homer for the Lady Irish (4-0). Raven Blackwell and Anna Grace Castanedo each had two hits for St. Patrick.

West Harrison 5, East Central 2: Stephanie Necaise (2-0) struck out 10 for the Lady Hurricanes (3-1) Friday. Jada Walker had three hits and an RBI. Sydney-Brooke Sims had two RBIs. Jaime Rouse and Kristen Sexton had two hits.

Track

Bearcat Track & Field Classic: The Long Beach High School girls scored 108 points, capturing the team championship at the Ninth Annual Bearcat Track & Field Classic at Lumpkin-Magee Stadium. George County finished as the runner-up team with 91 points. The meet was highlighted by a state-leading performance in the 400-meter dash by Long Beach freshman Destiny Pickens with a time of 59.7 seconds. St. Patrick's Ramsey Wagner took the 1-mile run with a time of 5:25.28. Pascagoula's Alexis McBeath took the high jump with a clearance of 5 feet. Picayune won the boys title with 88 points. Pascagoula finished second with 53 points.

Golf

St. Martin Tournament: Our Lady Academy finished second. Callee Breland shot a two-over-par-38 to earn low medalist honors.
