St. Martin's Sikes named MACJC Player of the Week

Former St. Martin standout Rodrick Sikes was named the MACJC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his efforts in leading Southwest to its first state championship in 53 years.

The freshman went wild in two of his team's tournament games. He scored 27 points against Northwest and then scored a career-high 31 in the championship game against Jones County.

Southwest coach Thomas Gray said in a statement Sikes play in the tournament was "exceptional."

"I couldn't be happier for him to have had a successful week like he had," Gray said.
