The next 12 months will prove to be busy for some of the Coast's top junior football players. With National Signing Day having just come and went, the spotlight will now turn to the class of 2017.

At least early on, it appears colleges like what they see from the Coast's offensive standouts.

St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan, as well as tight ends Chase Rogers and Darius Pittman, already have 18 offers between them. That number will undoubtedly grow as the 7-on-7 and camp circuits near.

Biloxi receiver Tim Jones already boasts four offers, as does Ocean Springs receiver Austin Williams.

Pascagoula running back Reginald Hunter also picked up an offer from Louisville this past season.

Latest offers

Rogers and Brennan landed the latest offers out of the bunch this week from Memphis and Indiana.

"The last week and a half, two weeks have been really busy with all the coaches calling. It's an enjoyable process, I'll tell you that," Rogers said. "To be able to have the opportunity to be that type of player and be recruited like this is a dream come true. It's awesome."

Rogers' first offer was from Cal, which has also offered Brennan and done a good job of blanketing the state with offers. The Golden Bears signed two Mississippians this year, marking three years in a row to pull at least one player from the Magnolia State - Last year, SSC's Ryan Gibson headed west to join Cal.

Rogers said Cal was the first in on him, offering him as a sophomore. As such, they hold a special spot with the tight end.

"For them to offer me that early, they must have really seen something in me and had faith in me," he said. "They've shown the most interest."

Like with his 2017 Coast counterparts, Rogers, who was among the state's leaders with 81 receptions for 1,462 yards and 19 touchdowns, isn't in any rush to commit.

"I'm open to everything right now. I'm just going with the flow, trying to feel everybody out," he said. "I really don't know (when I'll commit). It could be before football season or it could be February."

This summer could play a big role in where the Rockachaw trio ends up, as Rogers, Brennan and others will trek west to visit Oregon, Southern Cal, UCLA and other schools on the West Coast.
