Former Moss Point sharp shooter Devin Booker has been selected to compete in the NBA All-Star Weekend's 3-point contest on Feb. 13 in Toronto.
The Phoenix Suns rookie is leading his class with 41.7 percent 3-point shooting this season. As the NBA's youngest player at 19, Booker will be only the fourth rookie to compete in the contest, joining Steph Curry (2010), Kyle Korver (2004) and Dennis Scott (1991).
Booker was on fire this past month, leading all rookies with a 17.3 scoring clip. The 13th overall pick out of Kentucky also averaged 2.6 assists in the month. On the year, Booker is averaging 10 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Due to injuries on the squad, Booker has seen his playing time ramp up lately.
