Floyd, Williams named Sun Herald Players of the Week
Both Biscuit Floyd of Harrison Central and West Harrison's Ameshya Williams had monster weeks for their respective teams.
Floyd, helped get his Red Rebels back above .500 with a rivalry win over Gulfport and then a come-from-behind win over Bay High at Hoopsfest.
Against his former Admirals teammates, Floyd tied the game with 2:27 remaining and then had key assists late in the 64-55 win. He finished with a game-high 24 points.
Bay jumped out to an early 15-4 lead at Hoopsfest on Saturday, but thanks to a second-half explosion from Floyd, the Red Rebels pulled out a 58-35 victory. Sixteen of Floyd's 18 points came in the second half.
West Harrison pushed its winning streak to 12 games with a pair of wins last week against Gautier and Pascagoula. Williams averaged a double-double on the week. The forward scored 18 points with 11 rebounds against Gautier. Against Pascagoula, Williams dominated to the tune of 44 points -- a career-high -- and 15 rebounds.
