Bay High's Galloway, Terrell of Gulfport are Sun Herald Players of the Week

Bay High junior point guard Jamaya Galloway and Gulfport senior forward Carl Terrell are the Sun Herald Players of the Week after both players led their teams to a pair of wins.

Galloway is the Girls Player of the Week after after filling up the stat sheet in both of her team's wins a week ago.

She had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 73-40 win over East Central.

In a 70-41 win over Moss Point, Galloway had 25 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds and five steals.

Galloway is averaging 17.3 points, 6.1 assists, 3.0 steals and 5.4 rebounds this season for the Lady Tigers (15-6, 7-0).

This is the second time this season that Galloway has received this honor.

Terrell is the Boys Player of the Week after after leading the Admirals to a 60-49 win at rival Biloxi Friday night to take first place in Region 8-6A. Terrell had 18 points and seven rebounds in the game.

The 6-foot-5 Terrell also had 12 points in Gulfport's 55-50 win over St. Martin on Monday.

Jan. 12: Dillyn Neely (D'Iberville) and Savannah Jones (St. Martin).

Jan. 5: Biscuit Floyd (Harrison Central) and Aarmanii McDaniel (Gulfport).
