Biloxi's Tom Gladney named Athletic Director of the Year
Tom Gladney was recently named Athletic Director of the Year by the Mississippi Association of Athletic Administrators.
Gladney, who is in his seventh year as athletics director at Biloxi High, earned the honor last week during the MAAA's convention in Natchez.
"It's voted on by your peers so that's always an honor," said Gladney, who is the organization's current president.
The Indians' AD went on to say he's humbled by the accolade.
"There are ADs out there who have multiple high schools and junior highs and I don't know how they do it," he said. "I think they should be on top of the list.
"It's a great honor and I appreciate the support."
Gladney has had a busy calendar year, hiring a new football, baseball and girls basketball coach in the last 12 months.
Prior to joining Biloxi, spent 10 years as an athletic administrator in Waco, Texas.
A former football and baseball standout at Wingfield High School, Gladney was an assistant baseball coach for five years and head baseball coach for 15 seasons at Mississippi College
