Prep roundup: Pascagoula, Bay High girls pick up convincing wins
Alexis McBeath scored 19 points as the Pascagoula girls picked up a 47-32 win over Pass Christian Monday to improve to 12-3. Jailin Cherry added 11 points and Chabreyia McMillian scored 10.
Netanya Wilkerson led Pass Christian (6-10) with 13 points.
Bay High girls 63, Tupelo 47: The Lady Tigers (9-5) picked up another victory over a 6A opponent behind Jamaya Galloway's 19 points. Aerion Dority added 16 points for Bay High. Alayjah Sherer led Tupelo (10-3) with 18 points and Jalancia Kohleim had 16.
West Harrison girls 60, Pearl River Central 42: Ameshya Williams scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Lady Hurricanes improve to 10-1. Vin'Sha Hatcher contributed 12 points for West Harrison. Kayla Ryan led PRC with 14 points and Claire Lumpkin had 13.
Gulfport girls 56, Velma Jackson 53: Amyjah Hardnett led Gulfport 18 points as it picked up an overtime victory in the tournament at Hattiesburg. Jatiah Lathan contributed 11 points and Aarmanii McDaniel added 10. Gulfport will play Meridian at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Hattiesburg.
St. Martin girls 67, Wayne County 41: Daphane White had a triple-double of 12 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks as St. Martin improved to 14-2. Savannah Jones scored a game high of 32 points for St. Martin.
Lawrence County girls 49, D'Iberville 23: After defeating both Poplarville and Moss Point last week, D'Iberville (6-6) fell Monday morning to Lawrence County. Casey Ferguson led the Lady Warriors with 12 points.
