Resurrection and St. Stanislaus were the only Coast teams to reach the MHSAA State Championship Games this season.

Rockachaws quarterback Myles Brennan becomes the first player to earn Sun Herald's Player of the Year honors for a second straight season. Brennan completed 62.3 percent of passes for 5,248 yards and 53 touchdowns with only eight interceptions. He also rushed for 497 yards and eight touchdowns and punted 31 times for an average of 43.4 per kick.

For leading Resurrection to its first trip in the Class 1A state championship game, Eagles coach Scott Sisson was named Sun Herald's Coach of the Year. Resurrection (13-1) spent the entire season ranked No. 1 one in 1A.

Two D'Iberville players who have verbally committed to FBS schools -- defensive tackle Jacques Turner and defensive back Jacquelle Green-- also earned All-South Mississippi honors. Turner is headed to Southern Miss, and Green will sign with Louisville.

A pair of record-setters highlight the squad: Long Beach linebacker Kevin Wayne Jr. and East Central running back A.J. Davis.
