BILOXI -- Senior Anthony McMillian hit a 3-pointer with 37.2 seconds left in regulation Friday night, rallying Pascagoula to a 65-64 boys basketball victory in the Biloxi Sports Arena.

Biloxi (6-3) had led 56-50 with 4:16 left in the game but Pascagoula (6-2) rallied behind McMillian's 10 points in the fourth quarter. He finished with 12 points.

"I just knew we needed a shot," McMillian said. "We were down. My teammates had faith in me. Everybody believes in each other. It was big for everybody.

"This is about the best game we've played all season. They gave us a tough run but we came out with the win."

Jacques Belford led Pascagoula with 18 points. Darius Johnson, like McMillian, scored 12 points.

Biloxi center Marques McGee hit for 14 points. Jordan Lewis and Martell Turner each had 13 points while Fred Ramsey-Thompson had 9.

Biloxi has lost three games by a total of four points.

"It was a credit to two great teams," Pascagoula coach Ronald Norman said. "I'm so proud of my kids. A.J. McMillian made plays. Our guards were scrappy and got steals. I don't know who led us in scoring but it was a total team effort.

"They went on an 8-0 run and a 12-3 run and took the lead, but our kids kept fighting and persevering."

The game was tied at 20 after the first quarter but Pascagoula dominated the second quarter to go up 39-30 at halftime.

Belford hit a trey with 5:31 left in the third quarter for a 44-32 lead but then Biloxi answered the ball.

The Indians went on a 14-2 run to tie the game at 46. Turner's trey with 3.6 seconds left in the third quarter gave Biloxi at 49-48 lead and the Indians would never trail again until McMillian's trey.

Biloxi visits Pass Christian on Tuesday while Pascagoula faces Oak Grove on Saturday in the Melvin Booker Shootout in Moss Point.

Pascagoula girls 50, Biloxi 41: Jailin Cherry scored 19 points and Victoria Hunter added 14 as Pascagoula improved to 9-2. Domonique Evans had 15 points for Biloxi (5-6) and Anna Thigpen chipped in 12.
