Prep roundup: Ferguson, St. Amant each pick up double-doubles in wins

Gulfport 53, John Ehret (La.) 31: The Admirals picked up a big win in the Newman Invitational on Tuesday. Raekwon Murphy led GHS (7-3) with 16 points. The Admirals return to tournament action at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Biloxi girls 31, George County 30: Alexis McDaniel's 10-point effort helped lift Biloxi (5-5). Marshea Grayson led GCHS with 14 points.

St. Patrick girls 39, Sacred Heart 18: Morgan McCrea led the Fighting Irish (6-1) with 15 points. Baylee Hodge was second on the team with nine. St. Patrick returns to the court Friday against East Central.

Ocean Springs girls 75, Long Beach 22: Whitney Gipson scored 22 points and Dougless St. Amant had 10 points with 10 assists.

Faith Academy (Ala.) girls 73, Harrison Central 63: Adyn Strickland's 28-point effort wasn't enough to lift HCHS (6-4). Chyna Allen and DeAsia McInnis chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively. HCHS travels to Pascagoula on Tuesday.

D'Iberville girls 43, Gautier 34: Casey Ferguson scored 26 and pulled in 12 rebounds to lift D'Iberville (4-3). With the win, the Lady Warriors eclipsed last year's win total. Alexis Holloway led Gautier with 17 points. D'Iberville hosts Pass Christian on Friday.

Biloxi 85, George County 51: Jadarius Holloway scored a game-high 29 points to lead Biloxi (6-2). Martell Turner and Jordan Lewis scored 14 and 13 points.

Soccer

Gulfport girls 5, Hancock 0: Alexis Arnoult scored a hat trick and Maureen Maher and Charlotte Saari each scored for Gulfport (7-1-3, 1-0). Gracie Weatherly picked up the shutout.

Gautier girls 6, Bay High 1: Brendaisha Garrett scored three goals to lead Gautier (4-3-3). Jaslyn Gregory, Emily Riley and Michelle Hatten also scored.

St. Stanislaus 8, Vancleave 0: In his first game back from football, Corbin Blanchard scored two goals and had two assists. Owen Betz earned the shutout for SSC (8-2-1) with two saves. The Rockachaws travel to Pass Christian on Friday.

Ocean Springs girls 3, D'Iberville 0: Kaylee Foster, Rylee Foster and Mary Rieger all scored for OSHS (6-3-1, 1-0). Karsen Gildea and Ryleigh Sprague split the duty in goal for the shutout.

Ocean Springs 4, D'Iberville 0: Steven Gallagher scored three times and Allan May added a goal. Travis Harper and Moses Ohler combined for the shutout for OSHS (4-4-2).

Gulfport 4, Hancock 2: Jeff Bruni, Matt Stanley, Travis Beck and Touraine Perrier all scored for Gulfport.

Biloxi 5, Harrison Central 0: BHS opened district play with a shutout. Marcus Kennedy and Brennan Burney paced Biloxi with two goals apiece. Kevin Martinez picked up the fifth goal. Koray Easterling had two assists. Ramario Linton had an assist. Jacob Clark got the shutout.
