CHRIS TODD/SPECIAL TO THE SUN HERALD Resurrection Catholic's Patrick Watts (9) scores leaving Simmons defenders in his wake on Friday, December 4, 2015, at the MHSAA State Football Championships in Vaught-Hemmingway Stadum on the Ole Miss Campus in Oxford, Miss.

Resurrection had trouble moving the ball consistently against an athletic Hollandale-Simmons squad in the Class 1A State Championship on Friday. One of the bright spots for the Eagles, however, was Patrick Watts' late surge. The junior running back got RCS into the end zone with an 11-yard touchdown run around the right side of the line. The score was set up by Watts' 74-yard kickoff return.

Watts ended the game with a team-high 48 yards rushing on 14 carries.

Watts finished the season among the Coast's leaders with 1,215 yards rushing. He also rushed for 11 touchdowns.
