Prep roundup: Gulfport girls win Lady Admiral Thanksgiving Classic

Gulfport closed out its Lady Admiral Thanksgiving Classic on Wednesday with a big 51-48 win over previously unbeaten Murrah in the championship game.

Jatiah Lathan had 12 points to lead Gulfport (7-2), Quentella Johnson had 10 and Aarmanii McDaniel scored 11 points with 11 rebounds.

"It was a great tournament and great for our kids," GHS coach Donny Fuller said. "To beat a well coached team like Murrah with all the tradition they have was really big for our kids."

St. Martin girls 54, Biloxi 31: Savannah Jones scored 31 and Daphane White chipped in 10 points for SMHS. Breanna Riley led Biloxi with 15.

UMS-Wright (Ala.) girls 46, George County 32: Asia Riley scored 17 to lead GCHS. Marshea Grayson scored 12 points.

Harrison Central 59, Bay High 45: Biscuit Floyd led HCHS (3-2) past Bay on Tuesday with 17 points. Isaiah Steele and Dajon Whitworth scored 12 and 10 respectively for the Red Rebels. Bay High was led by Connor Ladner's 11-point effort. Austin Alexander had 10.
