Stop if you've heard this phrase a few times this season: Deon Cole did a little of everything for Gulfport.
Friday's performance against Ocean Springs was yet another strong one from the Admirals senior. On a night when offense was at a premium with Region 4-6A on the line, Cole paced Gulfport's 24-7 victory with 170 yards on 24 carries. He also completed a 32-yard pass on a fake punt to pave the way for Gulfport's first field goal. And then on defense he returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown for the second week in a row.
"You can put Deon anywhere on the field and he's going to play well for you," Gulfport coach Eddie Pierce said. "He's just that type of kid."
Cole's interception on the first play of the fourth quarter put Gulfport ahead 21-7.
