Fans at a middle school football game in Hurley on Thursday night witnessed a scary scene when a player was injured.
But a Harrison County School District official said the boy is doing fine.
A player for the West Wortham Middle School eighth-grade team was airlifted from H.D. Shirley Stadium after he was injured during the game.
A helicopter landed on the stadium's field in Jackson County just after 8 p.m. and he was taken to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport to be checked out.

School District athletic director Bobby Trosclair said Thursday night that the airlift was a precautionary move requested by the child's parents.
"He's alert and he has his full senses," Trosclair said. "He's going to be fine. It was precautionary. His coach said he was able to move all his limbs."
West Wortham, which is in Saucier, was competing against East Central Middle School.
