CARRIERE -- Christian Roberts ran for 127 yards and scored four touchdowns as Pearl River Central defeated Long Beach 46-14 on Friday night at Hendrix Stadium.
Junior running back Michael Tatman scored from 50 yards out 19 seconds into the game for PRC (6-1, 3-0 Region 4-5A), finishing with 102 yards. That bursting run set the tone for the rest of the game as PRC beat Long Beach 46-14.
"We came out, and we took care of business right from the get go," PRC coach Eric Collins said.
The running game was working for the Blue Devils. Roberts broke free for a 14-yard touchdown run with five minutes left in the first quarter. Long Beach then answered back with 1:32 left on the clock as junior quarterback Justin Lockey completed a 20-yard screen pass to senior running back Mario Clark for a score.

The Blue Devils continued their ground assault in the second quarter with an 8-yard touchdown run by senior running back Hunter Holifield, who had 93 yards rushing. Roberts also scored on runs of 3 and 1 yards in the second quarter.
Lockey threw a 99-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Trevor Terry, cutting the Blue Devils' lead to 32-14.
PRC quarterback Wyatt Davis tossed a 28-yard bullet to Banks to make it 39-14 at halftime.
Senior linebacker David Salser started off the second half with a pick, setting up Roberts' fourth and final touchdown run.
PRC travels to Gautier next Friday at 7 p.m.
