Former Biloxi baseball coach Kevin Burdine has been hired to take over the same position at Bay High School.
Burdine, who served as head coach at Biloxi for 13 seasons, was approved by the Bay-Waveland School Board on Monday, according to Dwayne Bremer of the Sea Coast Echo.
The vote was 4-1 with Maurice Singleton serving as the lone dissenting board member.
Burdine replaces Taylor LaFontaine, who went 0-20 in his lone campaign as head coach at Bay High this past season.

The Biloxi School Board accepted the resignations of Burdine and his staff on May 28 despite the fact that Burdine just finished leading the Indians to the Class 6A South State title series. Oak Grove eliminated Biloxi (22-13) at South State.
According to Burdine's attorney, the coach was let go at Biloxi due to use of smokeless tobacco. No further details were provided on Burdine's departure from the school.
