Gulfport unveils football state championship rings. Here’s a closer look
Ring ‘em.
Gulfport unveiled its state championship rings during its Admiral Championship Awards ceremony Tuesday at the GHS Auditorium.
The rings commemorate the first classification era title-winning team in school history. The 2025 Admirals won 12 games, including 11 in a row after a 1-2 start, and stunned Tupelo on a final-second Hail Mary in the 7A final in Starkville.
Head coach Blake Pennock presented the jewelry to players, staff and fans at the end of the night.
“I always said whenever we got this one, it’s going to be gaudy,” Pennock said afterward. “We told the ring companies I want you to look at it and be like ‘oh, my God.’”
Each ring was specialized for each player with their names and positions encrusted on one side. They feature the team’s manta “Above the Line” and an engraving of the final score of the state title game on the interior.
The rings weigh one pound each.
“It’s the first (top-class) state championship on the Coast in a long, long time,” Pennock said. “The battles and the adversity these kids went through to get where they got to and then to win it in a way that you’ll never forget is just icing on the cake.”
Gulfport is the team from the Coast to win a top-class football state title since Moss Point in 2000.
