Seven MS Coast baseball teams left in playoffs. Here are the matchups

Just seven South Mississippi teams remain in the baseball playoff as it heads into rounds two and three.

Region 4-7A top seed Ocean Springs had its season come to a sudden stop via two-game sweep at the hands of Petal. Three of the Coast’s 6A teams continue on into the second round while St. Stanislaus has pushed its way into a quarterfinal as a three-seed.

Each series has been pushed into the weekend and into next week due to weather. Here’s the full slate of postseason matchups.

7A Second Round

No. 4 Petal def. No. 3 Gulfport

  • Saturday: Petal 13, Gulfport 3
  • Monday: Petal 5, Gulfport 4

6A Second Round

No. 1 George County def. No. 2 Hancock

  • Saturday: George County 7, Hancock 0
  • Monday: George County 8, Hancock 3

No. 1 Pearl River Central def. No. 2 West Jones

  • Saturday: Pearl River Central 7, West Jones 3
  • Monday: West Jones 3, Pearl River Central 2
  • Tuesday: Pearl River Central 11, West Jones 1

4A Third Round

No. 1 Poplarville def. No. 1 Greene County

  • Saturday: Greene County 10, Poplarville 8
  • Monday: Poplarville 17, Greene County 16
  • Tuesday: Poplarville 13, Greene County 5

3A Third Round

No. 2 West Marion def. No. 3 St. Stanislaus
