Gallery: Catch the sights and scores from Week 1 of flag football on the Coast

Week one of Mississippi’s second high school flag football season is in the books.

There were 11 MS Coast teams on the field between Region 8 games in George County and Region 9 in Picayune.

Region 8 featured three one-sided shutouts. George County’s Lani McDoniel threw for three touchdowns and had two interceptions on defense in a 33-0 win over Gautier.

Olivia Tanner led East Central’s 43-0 stomping of Perry Central and Pascagoula used three touchdowns from three standouts to top Vancleave, 19-0.

In Region 9, reigning state champs St. Martin began its season with a 35-0 shelling of Harrison Central. Emma Chester threw three scoring tosses while Bri Sanders and Dalaysia Mayes combined for four touchdowns.

Biloxi won its inaugural game, 12-9, while West Harrison also won its program’s first game, 20-6, over D’Iberville.
