As always, you can nominate any athlete for an upcoming poll by sending their name, sport and stats from the seven days immediately preceding the day of the next poll to sports@sunherald.com.
This week our nominees feature players from Biloxi, Gulfport, Harrison Central, Ocean Springs, Picayune and St. Martin.
This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, Dec. 29.

Na’Kenya Terry, Biloxi girls basketball: The senior guard averaged 13 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals between two blowout wins over Gulfport and D’Iberville.
Travor Frost, Gulfport boys basketball: Frost had a monster double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 18 boards in a 62-60 win over Biloxi.
Saniyah Murray, Harrison Central girls basketball: Murray scored 30 points with 16 rebounds and 3 blocks in a district win against St. Martin.
Christian Cowan, Ocean Springs boys basketball: Cowan led the Greyhounds to a key district win with 22 points against Gulfport.
Rhyen Goss, Picayune girls basketball: Goss led the Tide with 18 points and 9 rebounds in a 40-point win over Long Beach.
RJ Keys, St. Martin boys basketball: The junior led the Jackets with 15 points and 5 rebounds in a key win against West Harrison.
