Who was the Mississippi Coast’s best high school football player in 2025? Vote now
The 2025 high school football season promised to be a fun one on the Mississippi Coast and it delivered.
The area produced over a dozen Division I signees, a record 13 athletes selected for the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game and the Coast’s first top-class state champion in a quarter-century in Gulfport.
Now it’s time to vote for the Fan’s Choice Player of the Year.
Nominees for the Sun Herald’s fan vote for Player of the Year come from D’Iberville, Hancock, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Pass Christian, Pearl River Central, Picayune, Poplarville and Vancleave.
The winner of the poll will be recognized in the All-South Mississippi Football Team alongside the Sun Herald Player of the Year pick.
You can vote as many times as you like until the poll closes on Wednesday, Dec. 24 at noon. The poll is not scientific, and you can vote again by simply refreshing the page.

DL KJ Washington, D’Iberville: Washington led the Coast and was top-10 in sacks with 13 quarterback takedowns in 11 games.
QB Kaison Koenenn, Hancock: No one on the Coast was responsible for more total offense than the senior quarterback. Koenenn threw for 2,326 yards and 21 touchdowns and was the area’s top rushing QB with 1,540 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground.
RB Cooper Crosby, Gulfport: The 7A state title game MVP led all large schools in the state in total touchdowns with 42. Crosby ran for 1,801 yards and led Coast running backs in receiving with another 654 yards.
RB Solomon Baggett, Ocean Springs: Baggett put together a strong back-half to the season, at one point stringing together three straight 200-yard games. The senior finished with 1,429 yards on 10 yards per carry.
ATH Jarrad Loper, Pascagoula: A career linebacker, Loper was called on to man the quarterback position and helped guide the Panthers to a 4-1 region record. The senior had 1,630 yards passing and made 40 stops on defense.
QB Paris Trivillion, Pass Christian: Trivillion spearheaded the best team Pass Christian has ever produced with 2,570 yards through the air and a Coast-best 34 passing touchdowns. The junior also added 1,120 rushing yards with another 15 scores.
QB Titus Feaster, Pearl River Central: Feaster shattered multiple school passing records on his way to a 2,120-yard season that was accompanied by 953 rushing yards. He was responsible for 32 total touchdowns.
RB Xavier Dennis, Picayune: The junior averaged a modest 140.8 rushing yards a game through his first five, but exploded for 267 YPG over the final eight. Dennis would finish as one of the more productive backs in Coast history with 2,840 yards and 33 touchdowns.
RB Ty Keys, Poplarville: Keys not only had the second-best single game rushing performance in state history, but ended the year with the third-most rushing yards in a single season in Coast history with the area’s third-ever 3,000-yard season. The junior totaled 3,285 yards on the ground and had a state-leading 46 touchdowns.
RB Kyle Capers, Vancleave: The next in a line of great Bulldog running backs, Capers produced 1,974 all-purpose yards, good for fourth on the Coast. The senior found the end zone 22 times, including once by punt return score.
