Vote for the Mississippi Coast all-sports Athlete of the Week for Dec. 8

The newest Athlete of the Week poll is live.

As always, you can nominate any athlete for an upcoming poll by sending their name, sport and stats from the seven days immediately preceding the day of the next poll.

This week our nominees feature players from Bay High, Christian Collegiate, Gulfport, Harrison Central, Ocean Springs, Pass Christian.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, Dec. 15, at sunherald.com.

Kamryn Lafontaine, Bay High girls soccer: Lafontaine notched her third consecutive hat trick with 3 goals and 1 assist in a 7-0 victory against Forrest County AHS.

Zaniya Johnson, Biloxi girls basketball: Johnson recorded 30 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks against Madison Central.

The entire Gulfport Admirals football team: Gulfport stunned Tupelo in Starkville with a Hail Mary victory to capture the school’s first playoff era state title Saturday.

Saniyah Murray, Harrison Central girls basketball: Murray poured in 33 points with 14 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocks against Ponchatoula (La.).

Markel Simmons, St. Martin boys basketball: Simmons scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and had 7 steals in a win over Lighthouse (Fl.).

Logan Robinson, West Harrison boys basketball: The junior had 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals for the undefeated Hurricanes in a win over A.J. Ellender (La.).
