Vote for the Mississippi Coast football Athlete of the Week for Nov. 17

The week 12 Athlete of the Week poll is alive.

Nominees from the opening week feature players from D’Iberville, Hancock, Pascagoula, Pass Christian, Pearl River Central and Poplarville.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Friday, Nov. 21, at sunherald.com.

Last week’s winner: Kaison Koenenn, Hancock

Javious Hales, Gulfport: The junior Admiral caught four passes for 49 yards on offense in the win against Northwest Rankin. On defense he intercepted two passes and returned both of them for touchdowns.

Tomareo Johnson, Pascagoula: Johnson had 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, three pass breakups and returned an interception 80 yards for a score during a win over Terry.

Cecil Lizana, Pass Christian: Lizana had nine tackles, two stops for loss, 1.5 sacks, a blocked punt and two rushing touchdowns in the win against Morton.

Xavier Dennis, Picayune: Dennis found the end zone four times on the ground in the Tide’s 55-7 win over George County.

Trac Smith, Poplarville: Smith completed two passes for 66 yards, had 55 rushing yards and two scores and intercepted a pass on defense in the Hornets’ 43-34 over Forest.

Ayden Green, Stone: Green ran the ball 14 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns in the Tomcats’ 35-7 win over Sumrall.
