South MS high school football live scoreboard: Points aplenty across Coast in Week 3

The high school football season rolled into Week 3 and points were the order of the night as we draw nearer to region play.

Friday’s menu featured rivalries, heavyweight clashes and big tests for teams who hope to be contenders down the road.

George County and Greene County battled for the annual Battle for the Bell. The Rebels entered with a commanding lead in the series and have won of the last six meetings, but they’ve been outscored 70-6 through two losses this season.

One of those losses came to Gautier, who itself exited week two a victim of a 42-17 hammering at the hands of D’Iberville. The Gators moved from one defensively stout, ground-and-pound team to another this week as it visited West Harrison for the Hurricanes’ homecoming game.

Pascagoula was hoping to rebound following a mistake-stocked upset at Biloxi, but had its hands full against the Ocean Springs Greyhounds.

Rounding out the intrigue was a clash of two opposing forces. St. Martin’s explosive offense hit the road for the third straight week to meet Jacob Aycock’s stifling Stone defense.
