Vote for the Mississippi Coast football Athlete of the Week for September 8

It’s time to vote for a new athlete of the week following Friday’s action.

Nominees from the opening week feature players from from Gautier, Ocean Springs, Pass Christian, St. Martin and West Harrison.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Friday, Sept. 5, at sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

KJ Washington, D’Iberville: Washington was a terror in Gautier’s backfield, bringing down the quarterback 4.5 times in the Warriors 42-17 win over Gautier.

Zahkarri McGlothin, Harrison Central: McGlothin ran 19 times and ate up 192 yards, finding the end zone twice in a 31-14 win over Hancock.

Paris Trivillion, Pass Christian: Trivillion threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns in a 47-14 win over Purvis. He also added 75 rushing yards.

Ty Keys, Poplarville: Keys ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in the Hornets’ 22-21 win over Stone.

Seth Crockett, St. Martin: Crockett completed 10 of 17 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. He added 88 yards on the ground with three rushing touchdowns.

Jordan Stapleton, West Harrison: Stapleton scored three touchdowns in a 34-7 win over Forest, two on the ground and one receiving. He totaled 186 all-purpose yards.
