South MS high school football scoreboard: Week 1 features blowouts across Coast

The 2025 high school football season kicked off for real this week.

All 25 teams from around the Mississippi Coast were in action in Week 1. Rivalries old and new played out, as did immediate litmus tests for several powers.

Ocean Springs was the first Coast school to take the field, trouncing Meridian 35-0 in a road game Thursday night. And many of Friday’s games finished with similarly lopsided results.
