Who was the MS Coast’s best high school softball player in 2025 season? Vote now
South Mississippi produced softball state champions in George County and East Central this season, highlighting the depth of talent the region boasts.
Now it’s time to determine the best of the best with the Sun Herald’s Fan’s Choice Player of the Year poll. The winner will be honored alongside the Player of the Year in the All-South Mississippi Softball team.
You can vote as many times as you like until the poll closes at noon on Wednesday, May 28. The poll is not scientific, and you can vote again by simply refreshing the page.

Here are the nominees.
- Emma Franklin, D’Iberville: Franklin constructed a 1.69 ERA with 134 strikeouts in just 87 innings. She also contributed with 22 hits, 13 of which were extra base.
- Abby Danis, East Central: The 5A championship series MVP starred at the plate and in the circle, building an OPS of 1.096 with 53 hits and working a 1.26 ERA with 116 strikeouts.
- Peyton Collins, George County: Collins enjoyed a dominant regular season, tossing 100 innings of 1.19 ERA ball with 135 strikeouts and holding batters to a .194 OBP.
- Teegan DeWitt, Hancock: The senior two-way superstar put up blistering numbers in her final season, batting .534 with 35 extra base hits and 33 RBIs. She also constructed a 1.02 ERA with a career-high 224 strikeouts.
- Gabrielle Smith, Harrison Central: Smith cut down 125 batters from the circle while posting a 1.53 ERA. She also picked up 24 hits with 12 RBIs.
- Gracie McDonald, Ocean Springs: McDonald wrapped up her stellar career with another 50-hit season that saw her bat .500 and score 36 times.
- Nicole Bradford, Our Lady Academy: The sophomore recorded 31 hits, 15 extra base hits and batted .660 with a 1.903 OPS.
- Annaleese Rabon, Pascagoula: Rabon led the Panthers with a .603 batting average, 14 extra base hits and starred in the circle with a 3.10 ERA.
- Mattie Gibson, Stone: Gibson drove in 37 runs on 36 hits and ran her OPS to 1.239. She also put together a 2.01 ERA in 73 innings pitched.
- Brooklyn Howard, Vancleave: The sophomore had 27 hits from the plate and worked a 3.10 ERA with 86 strikeouts from the circle.
- Jaylin Jones, West Harrison: Jones recorded 51 hits, scored 30 times while batting .429 with an OPS of .914.
