The St. Martin Yellow Jackets are Mississippi’s first flag football champion after flying unscathed through the pilot season playoff on Saturday.
St. Martin gets the rare full-team nomination this week, along with standouts from a rain-soaked week of postseason games on the diamond.
Athletes are nominated this week from East Central, George County, St. Martin and Vancleave. This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, May 19, at sunherald.com.

- Addison Davis, George County softball: Davis pitched a complete game shutout in a thrilling 1-0 win over Hancock to capture the South State championship.
- St. Martin flag football: The Yellow Jackets followed a 5-1 regular season with a Saturday sweep capped by a title-grabbing win over George County.
- Brooklyn Howard, Vancleave softball: Howard’s walk off sac fly in extra innings against East Central forced the South State title series to a decisive game three.
