Who will be the Mississippi Coast Athlete of the Week for April 7? Vote now in our poll
The baseball and softball postseason is looming on the horizon and we have an all-diamond poll to celebrate.
Athletes are nominated this week from D’Iberville, George County, Hancock, Ocean Springs, Pascagoula, Poplarville and Stone. This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, April 14, at sunherald.com.

- Emma Franklin, D’Iberville softball: Franklin cut down 15 batters during a one-hitter against Biloxi. She also reached base four times across two games.
- Canyon Reeves, George County baseball: Reeves doubled twice and struck out six of nine batters faced during a split series against Picayune.
- Teegan DeWitt, Hancock softball: DeWitt blasted a solo home run and pitched seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts in a win over West Harrison.
- Cannon Hensarling, Ocean Springs baseball: Hensarling reached base six times and stole three bases over the week, driving in three runs and scoring three more.
- Anneleese Rabon, Pascagoula softball: Rabon recorded four hits with a triple and pitched a one-hitter in a win over Picayune.
- Ty Keys, Poplarville baseball: Keys hit a double and a home run and stole two bases in a win over Moss Point.
- Ayden Obenhaus, Stone baseball: Obenhaus pitched a four-inning no-hitter against Laurel with seven strikeouts while also reaching base three times.
