Who was the MS Coast’s best girls basketball player during the 2024-25 season? Vote now

Girls high school basketball in South Mississippi produced another strong group of highly talented athletes. Here’s your chance to vote for the best of the bunch.

Candidates for the Fan Vote Player of the Year come from Biloxi, Harrison Central, St. Martin, Hancock, Long Beach, Moss Point, St. Patrick, Ocean Springs, Poplarville and West Harrison.

The Fan Vote winner of the poll will be recognized along with the rest of the Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Team when it is published.

You have until noon on Tuesday, April 8 to vote in the poll and you can vote as much as you like.

  • Zaniya Johnson, Biloxi: The sophomore averaged 14.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while protecting the rim with two blocks and one steal a game.
  • Anslee James, Hancock: James averaged 10 points a game with eight rebounds for the Lady Hawks as a senior.
  • Saniyah Murray, Harrison Central: The sophomore averaged a double-double, scoring 17.9 points and hauling in 10.4 rebounds a game with 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals.
  • Paityn Langley, Long Beach: Langley was the Coast’s top scoring freshman, leading the Bearcats with 12 points a night with seven rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
  • Jordyn Ford, Moss Point: Ford capped her Tigers career with a 12.5 points-per-game campaign where she averaged four rebounds and 2.8 steals, as well.
  • Starr Jackson, Ocean Springs: Jackson led the Greyhounds in every stat, averaging 15 points, five rebounds a three assists a game.
  • Briahna Burt, Poplarville: Burt was one of the Coast’s top rebounders, hauling in 8.3 rebounds a game with 7 points, 1.8 steal and 1.8 blocks a game.
  • Kylenn Ward, St. Martin: Ward stuffed the stat sheet with 17.4 points, 5.4 assists and 5.7 steals per game for the Yellow Jackets.
  • Alex Patino, St. Patrick: The sophomore enjoyed a breakout season, leading the Coast with 22.9 points a game and contributing 5.1 steals, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game.
  • Sydnei Barber, West Harrison: The North-South All Star Game select led the Hurricanes with 19 points per game.
