Meet the Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Girls Soccer Team for the 2024-25 season

The Mississippi Coast showcased another year of exceptional soccer talent in 2025, highlighted by state championships won by St. Patrick and Bay High.

The Tigers’ resilience and historic season earned Colby Adam the title of Coach of the Year. St. Patrick’s Anna Katherine Thrifflley stands out as the Sun Herald Player of the Year after leading her team with more than 50 goals scored or assisted on.

Kaydence Cook rounds out the honors as the Fan’s Choice Player of the Year.

Sun Herald Player of the Year

Anna Katherine Thriffiley, St. Patrick

Anna Katherine “A.K.” Thriffiley is the second St. Patrick star to earn the Sun Herald’s top honor in as many years, following teammate Isabella Jordan from 2024.

Thriffiley led the Coast with 37 goals scored and added another 19 assists. The Mississippi Coast All Star will be continuing her career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Coach of the Year

Colby Adam, Bay High

The Lady Tigers challenged themselves early and opened the season with a 1-3-3 record, including six straight games without a win. The Bay would lose only twice more down the stretch and ended the year with eight straight wins, including the program’s first state championship.

Bay High defeated West Lauderdale in a contest that was a microcosm of the team’s season. The Tigers faced an early 1-0 deficit and battled back to win, 2-1.

Fan Choice Player of the Year

Kaydence Cook, Long Beach

Cook earned the vote of the people after a stellar sophomore season that saw her score 21 goals while leading the Bearcats to an appearance in the 6A state title game.

Cook contributed to eight more goals as a passer while helping lead Long Beach to 19 wins. The underclassman landed a spot on the MS Coast All-Star team and then garnered over 25,000 votes to win the Fan’s Choice award. Kayleigh Crosslin of Ocean Springs finished in second with over 21,000 votes.

Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Team

  • Chloe Knight, Bay High: Knight was a Coast All-Star and the Lady Tigers’ leading scorer with 26 goals and 15 assists. She leaves The Bay as the school’s all-time leader in games started.

  • Mackenzie Graham, Bay High: The senior found the back of the net 21 times and assisted on 10 more goals.

  • Lauren Feuerstein, Bay High: A Coast All-Star and MVP of the state title game, Feuerstein scored 7 goals and recorded 18 assists.

  • Landry King, East Central: King led the Hornets with 21 goals and 15 assists and recorded three hat tricks as a sophomore.
  • Carmen Johnson, East Central: Johnson posted 17 goals and 10 more assists as a senior for the Hornets.

  • Presley Howell, George County: Howell scored 11 goals and added six assists and was an MS Coast All-Star.
  • Lani McDonial, George County: McDonial scored eight goals for the Lady Rebels and added seven assists.
  • Ansley Foster, Gulfport: Foster led the Admirals with 40 total points, was a Second Team All-Region choice and Coast All Star.
  • Sophie Rollins, Gulfport: Rollins registered nine shutouts in 20 starts and was named her team’s MVP as well as a Coast All Star.
  • Morgan Eleuterius, Long Beach: The Pearl River Community College commit scored 11 goals for the Bearcats and assisted on two more.
  • Katherine Chappell, Long Beach: Chappell registered 10 goals her sophomore season and picked up seven assists.

  • Dillyn Biancamano, Long Beach: Biancamano was named a Coast All-Star after scoring nine goals with four assists.

  • Kayleigh Crosslin, Ocean Springs: The Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. signee led the Greyhounds with 14 goals and seven assists.
  • Keiran Goodman, Ocean Springs: Goodman was versatile for the Greyhounds, scoring six goals with two assists and contributing defensively to 12 shutouts.
  • Drew Anderson, Ocean Springs: The freshman was a Coast All-Star after scoring 12 goals assisting on 10 more.

  • Erica Tarpley, Ocean Springs: Tarpley scored 10 goals for the Greyhounds and picked up six more assists.

  • Josephine LaGrone, Ocean Springs: Lagrone was a key defender who contributed to 12 shutouts and was named to the MAC All-Star team.

  • Kailey Taylor, Pass Christian: Taylor was the Pirates’ leading goal scorer and was named to the Coast All Star game, as well as the MAC All-Star team.
  • Taylor Hartzler, St. Martin: Hartzler was the Coast’s lone 20/20 player with 26 goals scored and 20 more assisted on. She earned a spot on the MAC All-Star team.
  • Brianne Sanders, St. Martin: Sanders was a Coast and MAC All-Star with 17 goals scored and six assists added for the Yellow Jackets.

  • Isabella Jordan, St. Patrick: The junior finished second only to her teammate on the Coast in goals scored with 36. The Coast All-Star also had 7 assists.
  • Gianna Encrapera, St. Patrick: Encrapera was the Lady Irish’s leading passer with 13 assists. She also contributed with four goals.

  • Nora Mestayer, St. Patrick: Mestayer picked up 12 assists and found the net 6 times.

  • Kirra Schmall, West Harrison: Schmall tallied nine goals with five assists for the Hurricanes as an eighth grader.
