Who was the MS Coast’s best girls soccer player during the 2024-25 season? Vote now
Some of the state’s best soccer talent remains right here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and we need your help picking the best high school girls player for the 2024-25 season.
Voting is now open for the Sun Herald fans’ choice Girls Soccer Player of the Year.
The fans’ choice winner for Player of the Year will be recognized along with the rest of the All-South Mississippi Team when it is published.
Voting is open through noon on Thursday, March 20.

Here are the nominees:
- Landry King, East Central: King led the Hornets with 21 goals and 15 assists and recorded three hat tricks as a sophomore.
- Presley Howell, George County: Howell scored 11 goals and added six assists and was an MS Coast All Star.
- Kaydence Cook, Long Beach: Cook found the net 21 times and contributed eight assists as a sophomore.
- Kayleigh Crosslin, Ocean Springs: The Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. signee led the Greyhounds with 14 goals and seven assists.
- Kailey Taylor, Pass Christian: Taylor was the Pirates’ leading goal scorer and was named to the Coast All Star game.
- Taylor Hartzler, St. Martin: Hartzler was the Coast’s lone 20/20 player with 26 goals scored and 20 more assisted on.
- Anna Katherine Thriffiley, St. Patrick: Thriffiley led the Coast in scoring with 37 goals and registered 19 more assists.
- Kirra Schmall, West Harrison: Schmall led the Hurricanes with eight goals and three assists.
