It’s time again to vote for the athlete of the week.

Mississippi Coast athletes who shined on the court and the pitch are nominated this week from Biloxi, D’Iberville, Long Beach, Pascagoula, St. Martin and West Harrison.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, Jan. 27, at sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Jayla Carriere, Biloxi girls basketball: Carriere single-handedly outscored her former team with 15 points in a 54-13 win over Harrison Central.
  • Noah Hill, D’Iberville boys basketball: Freshman Noah Hill led the Warriors with 13 points in an upset win over Biloxi.
  • Braiden Bonds, Long Beach boys soccer: Bonds recorded a hat trick during a 5-2 win over West Harrison.
  • Kelan Rich, Pascagoula boys basketball: Rich averaged 14.5 points across two wins against George County and Long Beach.
  • Yvette Nathan, St. Martin girls basketball: Nathan averaged 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds and seven steals over two wins against Ocean Springs and Holmes County.
  • Jalynn Applewhite, West Harrison girls basketball: Applewhite poured in 24 points with 17 rebounds in a 20-point win over Picayune.
