It’s time again to vote for the athlete of the week.

Mississippi Coast athletes from the gridiron to the hardwood are nominated this week from D’Iberville, Gautier, Gulfport, Harrison Central, Poplarville and St. Martin and West Harrison.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, Dec. 16, at sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Juan Santiago, D’Iberville boys basketball: Santiago scored 26 points to lead the Warriors in a 70-40 win over Resurrection.
  • Trey Irving, Gautier football: Irving threw for 229 yards and rushed for 89 more while scoring two touchdowns in the 5A title game loss to West Point.
  • Morris Robertson, Gulfport boys basketball: Robertson poured in 29 points during a 77-66 win over Spanish Fort (Al.).
  • Saniyah Murray, Harrison Central girls basketball: Murray dominated against Pascagoula with 31 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks.
  • Ty Keys, Poplarville football: Keys was named MVP of the 4A state championship game after amassing 213 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the 29-28 win over Louisville.
  • Yvette Nathan, St. Martin girls basketball: Nathan scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a win over Blount (Al.).
  • Sydnei Barber, West Harrison girls basketball: Barber officially became a 1,000-point scorer for her career during wins over Picayune and D’Iberville.
