Now is your chance to vote in our Athlete of the Week poll after the first round of playoff games for 1A-4A and the final week of regular season games for 5A-7A on the Mississippi Coast. The full top performers list can be found here.

This week’s football players are nominated from Gautier, Gulfport, Harrison Central, Pascagoula, Picayune, Poplarville and West Harrison.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Friday, Nov. 15, at sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Trey Irving, Gautier: Mr. 5A Football threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns and added 60 yards and another score on the ground in a 42-6 win over Laurel.

  • Cooper Crosby, Gulfport: Crosby tallied 142 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 42-21 win over Harrison Central.

  • Zahkarri McGlothin, Harrison Central: The junior ran the ball 16 times for 213 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Gulfport.

  • Amarie Jackson, Pascagoula: Jackson had 160 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a 49-13 win over George County. Jackson also returned a kick 62 yards for a score.

  • BJ Ducre, Picayune: Ducre had two rushing touchdowns and five tackles with three sacks in the win over the Hawks.

  • Zack Case, Poplarville: The senior had 128 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the 27-26 playoff win over Mendenhall.

  • Jordan Stapleton, West Harrison: Stapleton ran for 301 yards and five touchdowns in a 61-7 win over Long Beach.
