New school record-holder among the top high school football stars of Week 1 in South MS

Here are the top performers from around the Coast on week one.

  • Avery Harris, Bay High: Harris was everywhere for the Tigers, catching five passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns on offense and recording 12 tackles, four tackles for loss and a forced fumble in the 34-3 win over Resurrection.
  • Sage Fayard, Bay High: Fayard led the Tigers in tackles with 14 stops.
  • Jaylen Antoine, Bay High: Antoine picked up 134 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries.
  • Xander Ladner, Bay High: Ladner completed eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Jayquan Havard, D’Iberville: Havard rushed for 155 yards and one touchdown in the Warriors 51-15 win over Columbia.
  • Jaylen Jones, D’Iberville: Jones scored three rushing touchdowns as part of a 90-yard day on the ground.
  • Andre Crosby, D’Iberville: Crosby ran for 58 yards and a touchdown, caught three passes for 96 yards with another score and returned a kick 97 yards for a third touchdown.
  • Josh Johnson, D’Iberville: Johnson recorded 8 tackles, one pass deflection and a forced fumble.
  • Trey Irving, Gautier: Irving ran for a score and threw the winning touchdown in a 26-23 overtime win over Harrison Central.
  • Fred Nicholson, Gautier: Nicholson recorded 10 tackles and two interceptions for the Gators.
  • Brayden Jackson, Gautier: Jackson picked up 14 tackles, four tackles for loss, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup.
  • Deuce Knight, George County: Knight completed eight of 10 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for another 86 yards in the 33-7 win over East Central.
  • Branden Gautier, George County: Gautier had seven carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Brenn Moody, George County: Moody caught four passes for 105 yards.
  • Kohl Bradley, George County: Bradley recorded 17 total tackles and returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown.
  • Cooper Crosby, Gulfport: Crosby ran for 87 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries in a 41-6 win over Greenville Christian.
  • Da’koryean Payton, Gulfport: Payton rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on six carries for the Admirals.
  • Junior Brown, Long Beach: Brown ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns in the 28-21 win over Pass Christian.
  • Rashad Foxworth, Long Beach: Foxworth recorded five tackles, one interception and a pass breakup.
  • Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith ran for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Greyhounds’ 27-20 loss to Madison Central.
  • Brody Saenz, Ocean Springs: Saenz registered a team-high 13 tackles with one tackle for loss.
  • Silas Corder, Pascagoula: Corder completed 11 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Also ran for a score and set the school’s all-time career passing yards record in the Panthers’ 48-0 win over Moss Point.
  • Jaylon Parnell, Pascagoula: Parnell had three tackles for loss, two sacks and a safety.
  • Paris Trivillion, Pass Christian: Trivillion found the end zone twice for the Pirates in the loss to Long Beach.
  • Jacquez Alexander-Dedeaux, Pass Christian: Alexander-Dedeaux had 15 tackles and a forced fumble on defense and a rushing touchdown on offense.
  • Nick Miller, Poplarville: Miller rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown in the Hornets’ 17-16 win over Jeff Davis County.
  • Kevin Marshall, St. Martin: Marshall debuted at quarterback a perfect 8-for-8 for 80 yards and a touchdown. Also ran for 113 yards and another score in a 24-14 win over Vancleave.
  • Jayden Curtis, St. Martin: Curtis had eight tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble for the Yellow Jackets.
  • Aeden Jackson, St. Martin: Jackson led the Jackets on defense with 11 total stops.
  • Jordan Hathorne, Picayune: Hathorne rushed for three touchdowns in the Maroon Tide’s 60-34 loss to Brandon.
