Meet the Sun Herald Preseason All-South Mississippi High School Football Team for 2024
The 2024 high school football season has arrived on the Mississippi Coast.
Established stars and rising playmakers will take center stage on Friday to kick off what is expected to be another exciting season.
The All-South Mississippi Preseason Team is loaded with many of the biggest names and highest impact athletes the Lower Six counties will field. Gautier leads the way with seven players on the list, followed by George County, Pascagoula and Poplarville with five players each.

Fan’s Choice Player of the Year
QB Silas Corder, Pascagoula
The senior Southern Miss commit heads into his final season at Pascagoula as the school’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns. He leads a deep Panthers squad that is primed for battle within the brutal Region 4-6A.
2024 Preseason All-South Mississippi Football Team
First Team
QB Deuce Knight, George County: The Notre Dame commit and blue chip prospect threw for 1,420 yards as a Rebel in a short season with 15 touchdowns to just three interceptions while rushing for another eight scores.
QB Silas Corder, Pascagoula: Corder threw 23 scoring strikes a year ago as part of a 1,981-yard campaign and is the Coast’s leading returning passer.
RB Jacquez Alexander-Dedeaux, Pass Christian: Alexander-Dedeaux needs less than 100 yards to become a career 3,000-yard rusher after tallying 1,472 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior.
RB Solomon Baggett, Gautier: Baggett’s 1,500 rushing yards as a sophomore were the most a Gator had ran for in at least 15 years and are the most by a returning Coast player.
RB Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith broke out last season and led his district with 1,268 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
WR Bryhsen Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith is the Coast’s leading returning receiver after hauling in 42 passes for 765 yards a year ago.
WR Tristan Haynes, Biloxi: The senior was the Indians top pass-catcher last season with 36 receptions for 632 yards and nine touchdowns.
WR Montrell Dortch, George County: Dortch averaged 21.3 yards per catch as a junior and is closing in on 1,000 career receiving yards.
WR Kaleb Schaefer, Hancock: Schaefer caught 32 passes for 605 yards and six touchdowns his junior season.
OL Zaylin Dedeaux, Ocean Springs: The senior tackle has five Division I offers and was an All-State pick last season.
OL Deshawn Feazell, Moss Point: Feazell is a 6-foot-2 interior lineman who holds D-I offers from Alcorn State and Southeastern Louisiana.
OL Dalton Toothman, Vancleave: The junior lineman is the key piece in the Bulldogs ground game and recently picked up his first D-I offer from Southern Miss.
OL Jordan Marin, Stone: The 6-foot-3 senior lineman has earned four scholarship offers this summer.
OL Brooks Martinez, Bay High: Martinez is a 6-foot-3, 290 lb. interior lineman who currently holds five offers.
EDGE Aidan Taylor, Hancock: The reigning Sun Herald defensive player of the year led the Coast with 35 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in ‘23.
DL Colton Ladner, Stone: Ladner picked up 71 tackles with 19 stops behind the line and two sacks a season ago.
DL Sam Lejeune, St. Stanislaus: The sophomore had a breakout freshman season in which he made 18 tackles for loss with 5.5 sacks.
DL Jaxson Knight, Hancock: Knight had 11 tackles for loss and five sacks for the Hawks as a sophomore.
DL Andrew Daniely, Pass Christian: Daniely recorded 58 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception last season.
LB Blaine Green, George County: Green is the Coast’s top returning tackler after registering 139 stops a year ago. He also racked up 27 tackles for loss with three sacks and an interception.
LB Fredrick Nicholson, Gautier: Nicholson picked up 136 tackles with nine tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
LB Boone Wilson, Harrison Central: Wilson is his district’s top returning tackler coming off a 117-stop season with nine tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
LB, Jaylon Parnell, Pascagoula: The Louisiana Tech commit recorded 107 tackles last year with nine tackles for loss, four sacks and two interceptions.
DB Tylan Wilson, Pascagoula: The four star prospect had five interceptions and 11 pass deflections during his junior season.
DB Tre’Von Deans, Gulfport: Deans travels south from Harrison Central to join the Admirals after picking off a Coast-high-tying six passes as a junior.
DB Deontrius Hye, Gautier: Hye picked up 66 tackles with two interceptions and five pass deflections last year.
DB Kohl Bradley, George County: Bradley missed the rest of his junior season upon returning to GCHS, but the South Alabama commit is a quick-rising prospect who had 68 tackles and five pass breakups as a sophomore.
ATH Monclair Brave, St. Martin: Brave will be lining up at both wide receiver and corner this season after hauling in 39 passes for 438 yards a year ago.
K/P Evan Noel, St. Stanislaus: The Arkansas commit is the No. 2 ranked kicker in his class. He made eight field goals last season and booted 49 kickoffs for touchbacks.
