MS Coast star adds Mississippi’s Mr. Basketball in 6A to accolades, team success
Pascagoula guard Dorian McMillian has been named Mr. Basketball for 6A by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
The senior guard earned the honor for best basketball player in his classification during a season where he’s led the Panthers to a 27-1 record and a district championship.
“It’s a blessing to be able to coach one of the best players in the state,” Pascagoula coach Lorenzo Wright told the Sun Herald. “It’s truly an honor because the kid is a hard worker. He puts in the hours. It feels good to see him being rewarded.”
McMillian is averaging 15.5 points per game on 52.1 percent shooting and is holding onto several Division I offers, including from Southern Miss, Tulane and Southern.
Pascagoula is riding a 27-game win streak heading into the 6A state tournament.
