It’s time to vote for the Sun Herald’s MS Coast Athlete of the Week for Feb. 12

The playoffs are roaring for soccer teams around the Coast and the state basketball tournament picks up this week. We highlight some of the brightest stars from the hardwood this week.

Nominees this week are from Harrison Central, St. Martin, St. Patrick, Hancock and Pascagoula.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon on Feb. 19, at sunherald.com.

  • Shaun Murray, Harrison Central boys basketball: Murray scored 22 points with five steals in the 7A district championship win over Ocean Springs.
  • Brooklyn Cuevas, Hancock girls basketball: Cuevas scored a career-high 34 points in the 6A district championship win against Pascagoula.
  • Kylenn Ward, St. Martin girls basketball: Ward dropped 21 points in a stunning 7A district championship upset over Biloxi.
  • Dorian McMillian, Pascagoula boys basketball: McMillian scored 16 points in the 6A district final win over Picayune.
  • Matt Krass, St. Patrick boys basketball: Krass scored 21 points in an overtime district title win over Tylertown.
