Who was the best girls athlete on the MS Coast for the week of December 4? Vote now

Basketball and soccer stars are back for another round of our girls athlete of the week poll.

Through at least the end of the calendar year, the Sun Herald will be running a separate Athlete of the Week poll to highlight the many girls dominating their sport around the region.

Athletes this week are from Biloxi, Christian Collegiate, Harrison Central, St. Patrick and Vancleave.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Monday, Dec. 11, at sunherald.com.

If you would like to nominate a candidate for next week’s poll, send in game or match stats to swatkins@sunherald.com. Stats must be from an event that occurs this week.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Anaisha Carriere, Harrison Central basketball: Carriere scored 22 points in a 56-49 win over Ponchatoula.
  • Natalie Davis, Christian Collegiate basketball: Davis scored 20 points in a 52-36 win over Vancleave.
  • Zaniya Johnson, Biloxi basketball: Johnson scored 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and recorded four blocks in a 49-29 win over Brandon.
  • Isabella Jordan, St. Patrick soccer: Jordan scored two goals in an 8-0 win over Perry Central.
