Here are the top high school football performers across week 8 in South Mississippi
These were the top performers from the eighth week of Friday night football.
- William Lai, Biloxi: Lai rushed for 113 yards on just nine carries in the Indians’ 24-14 win over St. Martin.
- Zach Marlin, Biloxi: Marlin completed 10 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.
- Jaquan Thompson, Biloxi: Thompson had nine tackles, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble.
- Jayce Cummings, Biloxi: Cummings had eight tackles, a tackle for loss and was crowned homecoming king.
- Kevin Rogers, D’Iberville: Rogers rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-33 loss to Gulfport, also had 89 receiving yards and caught a touchdown pass.
- Ben Myrick, East Central: Myrick rushed for 229 yards and three touchdowns in the 48-35 loss to Laurel.
- Trey Irving, Gautier: Irving completed 12 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another 73 and a score in the Gators’ 49-33 win over Wayne County.
- Kelvin Beavers, Gautier: Beavers caught four passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, also returned a kick 95 yards for a score.
- Solomon Baggett, Gautier: Baggett ran the ball 12 times for 185 yards and a touchdown.
- Jacobe Street, George County: Street picked up 118 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Rebels’ 28-26 win over Hancock.
- Deuce Knight, George County: Knight threw for 135 yards and rushed for 64 yards and a score.
- Nico Williams, Gulfport: Williams completed 10 of 10 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Warriors.
- Dakoreyon Payton, Gulfport: Payton rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.
- Cooper Crosby, Gulfport: Crosby picked up 92 all-purpose yards and scored twice.
- Cam Joseph, Gulfport: Joseph caught three passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
- Jacquez Alexander-Dedeaux, Pass Christian: Alexander-Dedeaux ran for 230 yards and three touchdowns in the Pirates’ 41-12 win over Moss Point.
- Ladd Scriber, Pass Christian: Scriber completed 13 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown.
- Ayden Javon-Harmon, Poplarville: Javon-Harmon had eight tackles and two tackles for loss in the Hornets’ 45-12 win over Tylertown.
- Noreel White, St. Martin: White rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown in the Yellow Jackets’ loss to Biloxi.
- Ian Gonzalez Rioz, St. Stanislaus: Gonzalez Rioz threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another two scores in a 42-7 win over St. Patrick.
- Isaiah Haynes, St. Stanislaus: Haynes rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
- Spencer Cornell, St. Stanislaus: Cornell recorded 11 tackles and a forced fumble.
- Derik Forehand, Vancleave: Forehan rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries in a 27-23 win over Vancleave.
