Ocean Springs announces Collin Goley newest boy’s basketball coach
Ocean Springs basketball has a new leader at the helm.
Hancock boy’s coach Collin Goley heads east to take over the Greyhounds program for the outgoing Matt Noblitt, according to OSHS, after six seasons at HHS.
“I’m excited to be home,” Goley told the Sun Herald. “It’s the best school in the state, the best administration, great kids, great parents. I’m just excited. I don’t really have words to really describe it. It’s a great feeling to be back. I have a lot of love for Hancock and I appreciate everything they did for me, but it’s a little different being back home and getting to coach this group.
“We plan on updating the banner in the gym.”
Goley is a former OSHS basketball player and a 2008 graduate of the school. Ocean Springs is coming off a 16-10 season and has a pair of backcourt stars returning for another year in Elijah Isom and Maddox Noblitt.
The Greyhounds took down Goley’s Hawks in January, 59-45.
Ocean Springs will be moving up into 7A in July, while Hancock will remain in the 6A classification. Ocean Springs also announced the removal of the interim tag on Keith Carter’s title, making the full time athletic director for OSHS.
