Who was the MS Coast’s best high school baseball player in the 2023 season? Vote now.

South Mississippi was again home to plenty of talented high school baseball players this season, and fans have a chance to vote this week to pick a Player of the Year for the 2023 campaign.

The winner will be recognized with the upcoming publication of this year’s All-South Mississippi Team.

You can vote as many times as you like until polls close at noon on June 14. This is not a scientific poll, so refresh the page to vote more than once for your top athlete.

Get to know the nominees for the fan’s vote Sun Herald baseball player of the year here and vote below:

  • Seth Farni, St. Stanislaus: The Ole Miss commit slugged his way to a 1.348 OPS with eight home runs and 30 RBIs. Farni also pitched 31 innings with 55 strikeouts.
  • TJ Dunsford, East Central: The 5A Mr. Baseball winner slashed .413/.555/.596 while also putting together a 1.30 ERA from the mound with 116 strikeouts.
  • Peyton Lacy, Pass Christian: The Southern Miss signee slugged .704 with an OPS of 1.165. Lacy also pitched 51.1 innings with a 1.09 ERA and 95 strikeouts.
  • Walker Frederic, Resurrection: Frederic batted .421 with a 1.254 OPS. He had 45 hits, 12 doubles and scored 40 runs.
  • Logan Fontenelle, Biloxi: Fontenelle enjoyed a breakout season, batting .416 with 28 RBIs while also pitching a 2.67 ERA with 93 strikeouts.
  • Brock Cantrell, Ocean Springs: The Pearl River C.C. commit had an OPS of .893 at the plate and an ERA of 2.10 from the mound with 54 strikeouts.
  • Ethan Garner, Gulfport: The junior picked up 55 hits to lead the Admirals. Garner scored 37 runs and drove in another 21.
  • Colby Wilson, D’Iberville: The Pearl River C.C. signee slashed .449/.522/.673 with 44 hits as a senior.
  • Caleb Dyess, Pearl River Central: Another Pearl River C.C. signee, Dyess picked up 34 hits, scored 37 runs and pitched 74.1 innings with 113 strikeouts and a 1.98 ERA.
  • Hunter Parker, Vancleave: The junior recorded 39 hits and scored 25 times while dominating on the mound with 95 strikeouts and a 1.32 ERA.
