It’s time to vote for Sun Herald’s MS Coast Athlete of the Week for May 1
The playoffs are in full swing in South Mississippi, showcasing the Coast’s brightest stars on the biggest stages.
This week we have athletes that helped push their team’s deeper into the state playoffs with outstanding performances.
This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon on Monday, May 8, at www.sunherald.com.

- Teegan DeWitt, Hancock softball: DeWitt picked up five hits at the plate over two games, as well as 15 strikeouts from the circle.
- Pass Christian baseball pitching staff: The Pirhates’ pitching staff through two combined no-hitters in a two-game playoff sweep of Raymond.
- Brooklyn Rhodes, Vancleave softball: Rhodes helped her Bulldogs’ reach the South State semifinals with seven hits at the plate and 23 strikeouts from the circle across three games.
- Gabriel Smith, Harrison Central softball: Smith pitched a complete game, eight-inning shutout in the Red Rebels’ 3-0 win over D’Iberville.
- Chesley Rhodes, St. Stanislaus baseball: Rhodes had four hits, a home run and five RBIs in the Rock-a-Chaws’ sweep of McLaurin.
